Ours is a cooperative which was set up in Taranto in 2003, and is responsible for the farming of mussels on about 10 hectares of sea. It is an activity that has been handed down from generation to generation. The history of our company began when Rocco built the first farming facilities and started activity in the mussel industry; the pride of the Ionian capital. Soon, his three sons Nicola, Franco and Salvatore took over to follow in their father’s footsteps.
Our company is still a family-run business and will soon be run by the third generation of the D’Andria family, consisting of the children and grandchildren of the three brothers. Our company will carry forward a tradition made of love, passion and respect for the sea. Our facilities are located in the waters of the Mar Grande (classified zone A) and in the first side of the Mar Piccolo (classified zone B). Each phase of the production process is followed with enthusiasm and dedication, together with the other operators who share the same values as the D’Andria family.

Since 2021 we have started the breeding of concave oysters. Our ambition is to recover the ancient art of oyster farming and pass on the techniques and procedures that were used in the past, when Taranto was an important center for the production of this valuable seafood.
