STORIES OF SEAS AND MUSSELS

We produce mussels born in the Ionian Sea to be re-immersed in other seas and we breed oysters in the sea of Taranto.

We have been operating in the mussel farming sector for decades and we are specialised in the production of mussel seeds that will then grow in other seas, both Italian and foreign. It is an activity that we carry forward with passion and that has been passed down in our family for three generations. The sea is our most precious resource; our mussels a heritage of which to be proud.
Since 2021 we have been breeding oysters with the ambition of recovering oyster farming in Taranto.

We carefully and attentively follow the development of the mussel and carry out all activities that serve to train the product to be of greater resistance and adaptability in other waters. When the pergola is ready, you just have to dip it in your sea and let the mussels mature, without having to carry out any further processing.

It is in the waters of the Ionian Sea where we breed the mytilus galloprovincialis, the most widespread species in the Mediterranean. It is a valuable product, whose sensory properties are derived from the particularly salty conditions of the seas in Taranto, crossed by springs of fresh water that give the mussel unique and unmistakable characteristics.

We pass on the ancient technique of oyster farming with dedication. The fruit takes about two years to mature and we follow every stage of its growth. The Taranto sea, where the waters are rich in phytoplankton, gives us a valuable and tasty fruit.
